Humana Europe was established to offer commissioning services and support to Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) in the NHS in England, in response to a formal tender issued by the Department of Health in 2006 seeking to create a framework for commissioning.

Humana will work in partnership with your local NHS to ensure that the healthcare system is responsive to your needs and delivers value for money.

We will ensure that you are treated with dignity and respect, and given the knowledge and independence to make informed choices and decisions which are best for you and your family.

Whenever we can, Humana will ensure that services are integrated into individually-tailored programmes which are easy to understand, easy to use, and leave you feeling confident, reassured and in control of your health.

 

About commissioning

 

Commissioning is a process which enables the NHS to utilise available resources to plan and deliver high quality services that meet the specific health and healthcare needs of the local community.

To date, the emphasis of NHS commissioning has been on population health needs, but good commissioning can also result in health services that are responsive to the needs of the individual.

From Humana's perspective, innovative commissioning fosters a positive patient experience, which features:
